"W" Guessing Game

Ok, I am going to have a contest. It is a contest to see who can guess the three things about "W". First Place goes to whoever guesses closest to the day he is actually born. Second Place goes to whoever guesses closest to his weight/length. And Third Place goes to whoever guesses closest to his time of birth. I don't know what the prizes will be yet, but they will be good.

The rules are 1. that you have to post your guesses to the blog 2. you cannot guess the same as someone else, including me.
My guess is as follows,

*Aug. 22, 2007, 7 lb. 6 oz., 20 inches, 4:55 am*.

Here are a few hints. PBTB was 7 lb 8 oz, 20 1/2 inches when he was born and I was 7 lb. 3 oz. 21 1/2 inches when I was born.

Happy Guessing!

Baby Shower #3

Finally, the 3rd and final baby shower is done. It was on Friday, but I'm a little slow. I definitely received the most useful gifts at this shower. My in-laws all pitched in and gave me a glider, very useful. And my sister-in-law, who just had a baby in February, gathered up all of the baby items that she uses so that I would be prepared for "W". What a great idea!

Look at all this stuff. I am so relieved.
Also, the Nursery is finally done. You can see the glider in the photos.
And as for knitting, I "finished" another sweater.....ok, so it doesn't have any buttons, but I have looked everywhere for them and I figure as long as I find them or replace them before the sweater actually fits him, I'm ok. That gives me at least 6 months. The pattern is Nougat out of RYC Mother and Baby Book 19. The yarn is RYC Cashsoft DK. You know your yarn stash is getting too big when you select a pattern and you just happen to have the exact yarn that it calls for in the exact color.
And, of course, after the baby shower was over, PBTB gave me the the go ahead to do a little baby shopping myself. This is "W"s stroller/carseat combination, a Peg-Perego in Mod Verde. You can see the carseat blanket that I made him matches perfectly. Everyone gave me a hard time for making it green and black.

And last, but not least, the bassinet is finished after the Yarn Queen and I so cleverly designed this bassinet bumper. Who's idea was it to buy a bassinet from the DI that wasn't a standard size anyhow? I even had to cut off the end of the mattress and make my own sheet.

Let's see that again!

Over the weekend, PBTB and I went boating and fishing with some friends. Some more fly fishing on the Weber River and the boating took place at our usual, Jordanelle. We were all very proud of PBTB, who landed his backflip on the wakeboard. A few pictures from the occasion.

Ta-daaa!

For those of you who thought that pregnancy brain had interfered with my knitting capabilities.

I did it.....I finished another knit item for "W". Cable Yoke Jacket, knit from Louisa Harding's Nautical from a pattern in Simply Baby that I altered drastically. I don't know what they were on when they designed the patterns in that book, but apparently they were knitting for non-human type giants. I halfed the entire pattern to get a newborn size. It may be a little small, we will see. If it doesn't fit him when he is born, I can donate it to a preemie at the hospital. I was going to post pics of the nursery, but it's only 95% done. Still waiting for a little touch up paint and a rocking chair. The bassinet is also nearing completion, but after putting in the bedding, we came to the conclusion that it needs a bumper.

Only 4 weeks left, I am not sure whether I am celebrating or not. Getting a little nervous at this point. What am I going to do with a baby?!!!

3-D "W"

Yesterday was PBTB's 29th birthday. I took him to Fetal Fotos to get a 3-D video and pics of "W". He was a naughty baby as usual and would not move his arm away from his face. Of course, he had been playing with his cord too, so that was across his face as well. We found out that he has super fat cheeks and big, full lips. The cheeks are from Daddy and lips are from Mommy. Here are a few photos of his face.

He was nice enough to give us a smile here.

The rest of the day was fun as well. I made PBTB's favorite cake, german chocolate, and we made his favorite ice cream, rocky road. We went to eat at the Golden Phoenix and had Walnut Shrimp that he had been craving for weeks. His gifts, a wakeboard helmet, goggles, and some leather flip flops. Oh yeah, and a massage from his big sis. HAPPY BD PBTB!

Fish ON!

Fly fishing with PBTB and my brother on the Weber River.

Well, 7-7-07 proved to be a lucky day for me. I caught the only fish of the day. Ok, it's tiny, but keep in mind, PBTB's hands are huge. I also managed to walk the river in my waders 8 1/2 months pregnant without falling. This is pure luck in itself. At one point I thought PBTB was going to have to rescue me.

Happy 4th of July!

This is PBTB and I waiting to get in line for the parade. We threw candy and passed out paper fans with the business name on them. PBTB claims it was torture, hopefully next year we will do a float.

Marci, Levi, Ethan, and Piper helped too.

Baby Shower #2

I am now 45 days away from my due date. AHHHHHH!
Ok, stay calm, oh yeah that's what the baby shower is for, to take my mind off of it. It did the trick, here are a few pictures.
PS Thank you so much to all of my friends and some family that came to my shower to help me welcome "W". And a special thank you to Marci who did a beautiful job, everything was perfect, as expected.
