Beautiful Baby

The life of a new mother. I know I am always a couple weeks late posting pictures, but that's how long it takes to get them back. "W" got his pictures taken, along with a few of Mommy and Daddy. These are when he was 7 weeks old. I think he's gained a few pounds since then (14 lb 5 oz last time we checked, a week ago) He is getting so big now that he doesn't bend easily. PBTB's mother has always talked of him as a baby, not bending. She never mentioned why he wouldn't bend. We finally found some photos of him as a baby. It is not a mystery, we all know where "W" got his chubbiness from. Of course, his mommy was no petite baby either. He was doomed.

These photos were taken by a friend of my cousin Amanda. She did such a beautiful job. She really captured "W"s little personality that is already so prominent. We are so lucky to have such a happy guy. I have to wonder if all parents are this proud. Thank you to Angela for taking the photos and thank you to Amanda for the referral.

Two Months Old

"W" had his 2 month Dr. appointment last Thursday. He and I endured 5 vaccinations. I say "I" because it hurts me as well, but we both survived. He is in the 90th percentile on his height and his weight. He is 13 lb 5 0z and 24 inches long. PBTB and I are so proud of our little Gooby Doo. Some people call him Healthy, but I just call him Fattie. He's my little Fattie. Here are some pics with the new DSLR. (I highly recommend the Nikon D40 or D40X if anyone is in the market.) "W" is such a happy guy and is constantly gooing at us, hence one of many nicknames, "Gooby Doo". His other nickname is "Squeaker", which I have mentioned before, but we found out at the Dr. on Thursday that his squeakiness stems from a soft spot in the esophagus, nothing to worry about apparently. "W" finally started sleeping 5 to 6 hour stretches most nights about a week and a half ago. This makes mommy and daddy especially happy. He is holding his head up very well and loves to try and stand. His other favorite is instrumental hymns. We play them each night before bedtime and he goos and goos. Maybe he is just expressing his dissatisfaction for mom's singing. :)

PS What happened to the font options on blogger? Or is it just mine that quit working?

You're Killin' Me Smalls!

JH is keeping us all in suspense. No sign of him yet. "W" and I even made cupcakes for his birthday today, he wasn't buyin' it. (I read an article that cupcakes are all the rage in Hollywood right now, sounds like another Krispie Kreme phenomenon.) I have to assume now that he wanted the traditional angel food cake instead. I should have known. That's what worked for "W". He came the next day. But look at these cupcakes!

Here are a few photos of "W" on his blessing day. PBTB's niece took them. (I know, I know, that was a couple of weeks ago, but I just got the pictures from her.) If anyone needs some inexpensive family photos let me know. I will give you her phone number.

These flowers are a gift for the Duchess. JH sent them to let her know that he will come at the perfect time. And also to let his mommy know that he loves her more than she'll ever know. (Of course, she'll have to enjoy them virtually)

Hip Brides

I love hip brides. As a florist, I can't stand it when brides ask you to do their wedding in strictly red roses with white satin. On the other hand, I love it when a bride asks me to use lillies, monkey tails, and nerine with hot pink or brown satin. It makes for better photos. I just happened to have two hip brides this weekend.

If You're Happy and You Know It

I found the coolest website today. If you're anything like me, you wander around aimlessly singing/humming tunes to songs that you don't exactly know the lyrics to. This is especially true for me about songs from my childhood. This was driving me batty while singing to "W". I am certain he doesn't want to hear the same butchered verse over and over again. PBTB definitely doesn't. I love the silly songs from my youth and sometimes I even remember where I first heard them. I will share one with you. My Grandpa still hums this song and that is the only place I have ever heard it. It is also the song I was looking for the remaining lyrics to when I stumbled on this website. I will dedicate it to "JH" from "W".

Oh little playmate, come out and play with me.
And bring your teddies (supposed to be dollies, but we're talking boys here.) three, climb up my apple tree.
Look down my rain barrel
Slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends for evermore.

Oh little playmate, I cannot play with you.
My teddy has the flu, boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo.

Anyhow, there are lots more on there. Go ahead and reminisce for yourself.
The website is KIDiddles

"W" Blessing

"W" was blessed on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007. He was blessed by his Daddy, PBTB. Thank you to everyone who attended. Everything went perfect, oh, except that part where the bishop forgot about him and Daddy had to walk up to the pulpit and remind him, silly Bishop. No pictures of "W" in his "sweetpea" (blessing gown) since I posted one last time. But here is a photo of "W" in the sweater I knit for him that he wore after the blessing with his Daddy holding him.

I also added a photo of a flower arrangement done by my "special" understudy. Doesn't she do a beautiful job? I thought it was quite festive and a good way to welcome the new season.

The last one is "W" smiling! He does that a lot lately. That was his first tummy time. He liked it.
