10 Months/Playgroup

I am a little delayed with my blogging this week. "W" turned 10 months old on Tuesday. I am not sure how much he weighs. I haven't gotten that far yet. As you can see, we are moving things up from his level. He has been crawling for a while, but he has just recently become bored with those items that are placed directly in front of him and those areas of the house that he has already mastered. That, and he can speed crawl. He is starting to look like a little boy instead of baby, so sad. The chubbiness is still there, just his face. More than one person has noted the likeness to Dennis the Menace. I don't know how much he looks like him, but he is definitely a menace.

Today, we had playgroup. I have found the best cure for the fact that my 10 month old still does not sleep through the night is to run him ragged everyday. The combination of sun and water seems to be very effective.

Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea?

We went boating with the fam at Jordanelle Reservoir today. "W" dubbed the name Sponge Bob for the day in all of his bright, glorious, spongy-ness. I couldn't help but laugh at him in his lifevest. He had another one, but it was strangling him because of his lack of a neck. He reminded me of the kid in the snowsuit from Christmas Story. He LOVED the boat, surprise, surprise. That kid already has a need for speed. I think "hooooo, hooooo" was all I heard out of him all day. It was a short trip, which I liked, that way maybe we'll go more than once this summer. I never like too much sun, as you can tell from my pastiness. I'm the same color as the baby for heaven's sake, maybe even whiter. I am going to blame it on trying to cut back on skin cancer, ya, that sounds good.

"W" unsure if he can operate in his get-up.

Waving to Mama.

Hangin out with the cuz in his dollar store attire.

"W" thinks he needs to look like he's chillin' in everything he does. This is his infamous stance.

"W" couldn't get enough of the wake and sucking air in the bow.

Thanks To Our Fathers

The cutest Daddy-Demon Duo in town. Happy Father's Day to all of the great Dads in our lives.

Vacationing........Dad, Me, the Duchess.

My Dad, the year my mom was pregnant with me. I know, I know, you had a couch that looked just like that.

A, not so sharp, photo of PBTB, his Dad, and his older brother.

Adventures in Babysitting

This morning I was babysitting Dallin (5) & Ben (3). I loved their "little people" dialogue.

Ben: Look, I have an ouchie. It's real bad.
Me: Ohhh, that's bad.
Dallin: No, you know what a scab is?
Me: What?
Dallin: That means your ouchy is getting better and the skin is growing over.
(I thought that was pretty good for 5)

Ben: Look at me. (dancing)
Dallin: I am a better dancer than him. Turn the music up louder and I dance better.

Ben: Look at these. (making hand and feet prints on the sidewalk with water)
Me: Oh, those are awesome.
Ben: I was talking to the little guy. (meaning "W")

Duplicate

Here is the other sweater I was supposed to have done 5 weeks ago.....sigh. I made this one in the largest size, 6-9 months and it turned out much better. I used a different color of Matchmaker, it's a nice jade color and with black/white polkie dot ribbon........I need a girl. (maybe if I say that enough times, it will come true.......maybe I'll be sorry I said that once she gets here.......hmmmm)

I LOVE this yarn. I'm afraid I've become quite the yarn snob. Honestly, though, you have never knit until you've knit with quality yarn as the likes of Jaeger, Rowan, Anything pure wool, silk, etc. And the finishing, it makes it so smooth and easy and that makes your whole project.

Balancing Act

"W" thinks it's really funny if you put his blocks on his head. He holds real still and balances it on his head with his infamous cheeser.

Riding Along in My Automobile

"W" loves to mow the lawn with Daddy, but he doesn't like the noise. Easy fix, earmuffs. This is so funny. It's the only time "W" will sit still and for sure the only time he would allow for earmuffs, especially for as long as it takes to mow the lawn. I don't think he was ready to come in when they were done.
