Adoption Tag

My sister tagged me and, while I dislike being tagged, I will do it. 1.) because I love her and 2.) she is the best "hoping to adopt" mommy out there. (no offense to my other "hopefully adopting" friends, you are all second best ;)

Here are the rules:
1.Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share 6 adoption related things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

6 related things
1. My sister is going to adopt her next child (I put baby and then realized he/she could be older) and I really hope it's a girl, we're having a girl dry-spell in my family and there are girl items that I am dying to buy/make.
2. My hubby learned last year that he has a half-brother that was adopted, he lives in San Fransisco and we are excited to meet him in person one day.
3. One of my best-friends growing up was adopted from Korea.
4. I am so grateful for mothers out there who are brave enough and selfless enough to place their children for adoption when the situation is best.
5. I have many friends with adopted children and they are so fun to learn about.
6. Sometimes I wonder if I was adopted myself.

I am going to tag Ann Herron, only her instead of 6 others because she accomplishes as many things as 6 people and she is an adoptive mommy.

15 Months

I thought it was hard trying to get "W" to cooperate for pics with Anna when he turned 12 months, I couldn't even get a smile :( In his defense, that crying pic is very out of character for him, he was extremely hungry, sometimes I forget it's been a while since he ate.

Knit Whit

I had this "fabulous" idea to knit PBTB, "W", and I sweaters/vests for our Holiday pictures. This was back in July. I've been knitting ever since. I just finished last week. All that work and I don't think any of them will be worn more than once. a.) because I will more than likely be too fat to wear mine very soon b.) PBTB is not all that into vests, but I wasn't about to attempt a whole sweater that late c.) "W", once again, grew out of his before I could finish it. I had to sew it on him for the pictures and then unsew it to get it off of him. To make matters worse, yesterday "W" was not in the mood to have his picture taken, to say the least. So, my holiday postcards won't quite be up to par this year. I (or rather, Grandma, not sure) did get some cute shots of the boy and his Daddy. Maybe that's the recipe for a successful photo in our family, eliminate mom. Sigh, maybe next year will be better, hopefully in more ways than one. Thanks, Grandma, for helping us out.

Everyday When I Make My Way to the Tubby......

I find a fella, who's small and yella, and chuuubby. Rub-a-dub dubby! This is the song we sing before tubby time. Thanks, Ernie.

And here's the little cutie after a nap, you know when they're all sweet and precious, reading a book.

Strange Ranger

Does anyone else's kids do this?

"W" has a compulsion to put things into piles. First, he made me spread his blankets out across the floor (It took me a minute to figure out what he wanted.), then he took all of his toys out of his basket and piled them on the selected blanket (not sure how the selection process went). Apparently, he wasn't satisfied with the size of the pile, so he started taking everything out of the bathroom cabinet to add to the collection. At this point, he sees me taking a picture with the camera and decides the camera must be added as well.
This is not a single occurrence. He will also pile things from the bathroom cabinet into the garbage, grandma's purse into the garbage, from the garbage into another more suitable area, it's a multiple times a day thing.

Reminisce

I usually don't do tags, but this required almost no effort and I hadn't posted in a couple of days. I assumed I was supposed to use the same 5th folder 3rd pic? However, I won't tag anyone, but any fellow blogger who wants to play along, can.

That's my boy 8 months ago at 6 months old. What a cutie!

Lindsey

I had the pleasure of being pregnant for the first time with a few of my close girlfriends. One of them asked me to take pictures of her sweet little girl. She is such a doll. (Thanks, Kritz, for letting us borrow your backyard) That last one is a little overexposed, but gimme a break, I'm just learning.

Shooting in Full Manual

Wow, I never thought myself capable of it. I learned so much at Anna's photography class. Now, please understand that I decided to use a 14 month old and a 20 month old as my subjects. I had to move fast and try to remember how to change my settings as they ran from full sun to shadow. I think it would be a lot easier to start out with someone who understands english. They don't have the best composition, but who can think about that on top of everything else in this situation. And, eye contact is almost non-existent.

Hopefully you will be able to see improvement in the coming months, we'll see.

I even received a few requests to do photo shoots this week. Business is good when you work for free :)

I Am What I Am

"W" loves to pull a little Popeye face wich gave us inspiration for this year's costumes.....Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Bluto.

This is "W" at Gardener Village riding the ponies and harrassing the goats.

Costume Time

The whole crew. I purposefully chose this photo so you could see the slight baby bump (a little emphasized by being swollen from surgery)
