Busy, Busy, Busy

I am on a roll, this is the third post this week. Lots to report today. PBTB finished "W"s dresser. We bought it at the DI for $25.00. See the before and after pictures. "W" will have to forgive his parents for buying him an originally bright pink dresser. Also, the Yarn Queen and I have been sewing away. We finished "W"s bassinet bedding and a quilt. We started a few more quilts to keep our momentum. The white gerber daisy pictures are from a wedding that I did today and the yellow roses are just another spectacular display of my abnormally abundant rose garden. Until next time........

The New Fins

Well, we sold our old boat. (again, ksl.com) We had a 1981 18 ft. Gulfstream. After taking it to Lake Powell with the 10 of us we decided that we could use a bit of an upgrade to hold our growing families. It took us a while to find a 24 ft. boat that wasn't a cuddy, but here it is, a 1993 Sea Ray. I know, not the greatest color. We bought it thinking we could paint, but as it turns out, it's gel and isn't paintable, oh well, we'll learn to love our teal green boat. My favorite part, the huge bow that seats 5 or 6 people.

Who's blog is this, anyway?

Ok, ok, I know, this should be PBTB's blog. Really, It's more fun to brag about someone else than yourself. Also, it's been more than two weeks since my last post, if I waited around for something exciting going on with me it might be a month. Anyway, PBTB and I "needed" new patio furniture. Ours was teak and we never felt like staining it, so it was always giving us slivers. Of course, the ones we liked were $3-500.00. This isn't really a justifiable expense when you are expecting your first child, so, we improvised. I sold our set on ksl.com for $45.00, we bought 6 chairs from Home Depot for $78.00, and PBTB welded us up a table last Saturday and then laid tile for the top. Like I've stated many times before, I really am spoiled. Here are the photos.

On another note, the cousin's twins were born last week, both boys, both healthy, and identical, yay! The Yarn Queen and I went to visit them yesterday. The smaller of the two, born 4lb 9 oz. was so small we marveled that he was a real baby. Miracles!

Baby Shower #1

On Saturday I had my first of three baby showers. It was given by my sister-in-law and two friends. I think that showers are a mild form of torture, but this particular baby shower was nothing of the sort. I didn't think that it was possible to have such a good time at your own shower. I think I was laughing the entire time. The gifts were absolutely the best anyone could imagine. Many of the gifts were handmade, being that the Knitting Guild was invited. Here are a few items that "W" and I received. Thank you, thank you to everyone who attended and all of the beautiful gifts. (For more pictures of the shower, check out the Yarn Queens blog listed on the sidebar on the right)

Lake Powell

A final family vacation before PBTB and I enter into parenthood. I seem to be invincible while pregnant. (the Duchess can strangle me when she sees me next.) I have always gotten motion sickness. Being pregnant on a boat, you would think, would make things worse. But no, along with all the other ailments in my life, this to seemed to be MIA. We had a very pleasant time. PBTB's parents came, along with his brother and their children, and of course, I brought along P. Diddy. P. Diddy had an excellent time, minus going down the slide on the houseboat and swimming in the lake, which I think he secretly enjoyed, although may have nightmares over. The weather was perfect, but again, no luck fishing, unless you count carp caught illegally with bread.
