Belly, Belly

Ok, so some friends/relatives have been asking for a belly picture. I don't do bare belly pictures to share with anyone. Here is a picture of my belly fully clothed. Also, I included pictures of my roses because they are exceptionally beautiful and abundant this year. We are off to Lake Powell today so I should be able to return with lots of fun pictures and finished projects. Until then.

My personal favorite.

P Diddy's BD Bash

P Diddy turned 6 last Wednesday, May 16th. I can't believe he is six. His birthday party was Sunday, but I am not that efficient, as it is now Wednesday. The theme this year, army. I am not sure what brought about the fascination, but you know, you go with it. I bought him a tank and and an army video game for the PC. The hit of the party was Mario Smash Bros for his Xbox/PS2, whatever it is that he has. Also Star Wars items and Legos. Of course, I spent the majority of the party assembling legos because he doesn't know how. He just likes them once they are put together. Honestly, what is the point?

Well, obviously, I was not that that excited about the party. Boy things are just not as fun as girl things. I guess I better get used to it.

7 Random Things

Wow, my first tag, ok, so it was by my sister and I don't know anyone to tag to keep it going, but oh well. I'll participate the best I can.
Rules
List 7 random things about yourself on your blog.
Tag 7 others.
Leave a comment on their blog to direct them to your site to get the rules.

1. I watch movies, but I don't watch television.
2. I like being hot, like when you get in your car on a hot summers day and you can't breathe hot.
3. I despise doing my hair.
4. I get more anxiety from doing too little than doing too much.
5. I love slurpies and bubblegum machines.
6. I love hoodies.
7. PBTB knows never to buy me expensive jewelry, flowers, or chocolate. I don't enjoy any of them. I like costume jewelry, flowers out of the garden, and peanut butter.

Seeing Double

Something you should know about me.....I do not like to do things twice, this includes; cooking meals, flower arranging, and especially knitting. This is why I don't knit socks. I never get to the second sock. After the first, I've already met my challenge and therefore unconsciously decide that it will end there. This is also why I have multiple unfinished knitting projects scattered here and there. If I make a mistake, it kills me to have to frog it and start over. So, it is with great excitement that I show off these vests that I knit for my cousin who is expecting twin boys. I did break a little at the end and put different color buttons on them, but I figured that would come in handy in case they couldn't tell them apart.

And yes, that is my belly poking out on the right side of the first picture. I guess you don't always notice when it is in the way. I laughed because I didn't know what it was at first and I didn't notice that it was even in the picture until I was downloading. I was going to do a re-take, but then decided that others might find that amusing as well.

26 1/2 Weeks

Here is a picture of "W" at 26 1/2 weeks. The top one is his chubby little face, but you have to turn your head horizontally to the right to see him and even then I struggle (hint: find his eyelid first, half moon shape) The bottom one is easy to see. It's his profile. He's so cute and chubby now. He was naughty, as usual, and they struggled to get a good skull measurement or a face picture. He was burying his head in my cervix. I guess he wants to prepare early. He now weighs 2 lbs. 1 oz.

Royal Heirloom

Well, I can't believe it. The crib is finished, and breathtaking if I do say so myself. It's the most beautiful crib I have ever seen in my life. The pictures don't do it justice. PBTB is even happy with it. And, of course, there is the crib bedding. A match made in heaven. Here is a glimpse of "W"s unfinished nursery.
At my request and PBTB's dismay, the outside of the crib is stained dark and the inside of the crib is stained natural.

PBTB never ceases to amaze. His next endeavor is a matching dresser, but he is looking to refinish an existing mahogany dresser, rather than build from scratch, just to speed things along. After that, dining room chairs are in order so we aren't sitting on folding chairs around our exquisite dining room table that he built.

Getting There

I am now officially getting on the ball. I knit these baby cargo pants for "W" in just over a week. At this rate, I may have a few more things done before August 16th or whenever he decides to make his royal appearance. They are knit out of Rowan All Seasons Cotton, one of my favorites. Just three skeins, more like two and a smidgen. I will use the remainder to make another bib......stay tuned. If you like the pattern, I got it off of Knitty.

PS The crib is nearing completion. I can hardly stand the suspense. Possibility of posting Saturday or a few days thereafter.
