Oops, I Did it Again

It's been over 60 days since we had been to the emergency room and "W" decided we were due for another visit. He was climbing, as usual. I swear this kid can't stand to have his feet on the ground. He hit in between his bottom lip and his chin on a table and then his teeth pushed through on the inside, so he literally put a hole in his lip. Since it was so deep, most of the stitches are inside. Other, than the furious hour he spent at the Dr's, he seems happy as can be and is already back to climbing every chance he gets.

On a happier note. These felted Alpine Boots (slippers) were soooo quick and easy to make. I even made a pair for JH, aren't they cute?

Howdy Doody Time

It was so fun to have our first Christmas with "W" when he maybe didn't realize exactly what was going on, but was definitely excited. "W" loves animals, namely horses and dogs, Santa brought him this horse on wheels."W" didn't quite get how to open his gifts at first, but had it mastered by the end of the day.

PBTB and I had rules this year for exchanging gifts with one another. 1.) We would make something and 2.) It had to be made from materials that we already had, no money spent. Well, he cheated just a bit, by buying a new seat, but look at my awesome gift. I have wanted a beach cruiser for a while now and this rust infested thing had been in our storage for as long as we've been married. It was PBTB's aunt's back in the day. He spent hours taking steel wool to the frame, rims and fenders. Isn't it beautiful? I felt bad giving him my usual, something knit (my talents are limited), an english driving cap.

It's nearly impossible to get a pic of PBTB without his eyes shut. I've never known someone to blink so much.
Goodbye stroller, hello tricycle. This was from Grandma and Grandpa, do you think he liked it? Yah, just a little.

Christmas in the Pines

We went to Oakley for our traditional Christmas Eve celebrations. "W" went sledding for the first time. By the end of it, Daddy had him going down face first on the sled. I was waiting for him to cry from frozen fingers and toes, but he ended up outlasting me and would have stayed out longer, had it not been time to eat. So, either I'm a sissy or he's tougher than most babies. I like to consider the latter.

And, of course the annual Christmas Eve jammies, which are so adorable that I would like to take credit for them, but in truth it was Grandma, she cranked out 2 sets of pjs and a nightgown, before I could make it up to help her. I couldn't have chosen cuter fabric, houndstooth plaid.

"Not if you don't mind me being a dentist."

Here is "W" chillin' in the waiting room at the dentist, watching Shrek. BTW, if you live in town, Southridge Pediatric Dentistry has a sweet office. I would go there just because they have awesome taste in decor.
Yes, it's a horrible picture, a camera phone specialty.

Santa, Baby

"W" was not a fan of Santa Claus. However, I am convinced he probably would have been ok with it if it had not been his naptime. He LOVES old men that look like Grandpas, why should Santa be any different? At least he let Dad hold him for a minute for a quick picture.

For those of you who may have missed my Holiday Card this season (tight budget=bare minimum mailings), we love you all and hope you are having a magical holiday season.

Practice, Practice

Still working on my photo taking abilities.

Remember Lindsey?

We were racing time to get some family photos before the sun went down, but managed to get a few cute ones.

Ploys for Tots

I was dreading putting up the tree for a couple of reasons. a.) I didn't want the front room to look small if we showed our house (our tree is kinda big) b.) I didn't want to constantly keep "W" from biting the glass ornaments (like he did at the cousins house).

And then..........I came up with this deceptive tactic. I just happened to have a smaller tree leftover from my store. It works beautifully, it's just tall enough that he can bat at the ornaments if he's on his tippy toes and it only took me half the time to decorate.

Nightmare Before Christmas

Doing a little birthday/christmas knitting. These are for 5 and 7 1/2 year old boys, but they looked so cute on my models, "W" and PBTB. I should have started earlier.
