NYC Part II

We had good intentions to go to Chinatown, Little Italy, and Soho. But, it was Independence Day and we got off the train at the World Trade Center. I thought, what better day to visit the 9/11 tribute? Well, that wasn't so exciting for the kids, so it took us twice as long as normal. But, WOW. It tears your heart in two all over again, but it builds you up with pride for your neighbors all over again, too. The memorial will be done for the 10 year anniversary next summer and it's going to be amazing. I don't think I've gone more than 2 hours without thinking about 9/11 for the past 3 days.

We did make it through a small portion of Chinatown before we decided to call it quits and saw City Hall and the US Supreme Court (towering, forgot pics DANG!) on the way. I've never felt so tiny in my life. And, yes, folks, we missed the largest fireworks show in the country and it was right outside our hotel. Why? Because my kids just could not make it one more step. I have no regrets. There is nothing worse than looking into a tired, miserable baby face. And that's just how we roll.
