This cute little devil did something very naughty today. Is this becoming a daily routine? He likes to climb into the shower at his Grandma Sharon's house. We try to keep the door shut, but it doesn't always happen. Today, he was MIA for a couple of seconds and I knew right where to find him (it was either there or the stairs). I opened the shower curtain and reached down to pick him up. As I was lifting up......so was he.......on the nozzle. My second shower of the day. Thanks, "W".

Daredevil: The Baby Without Fear
I know, I am not the best mother. When my 1 year old decides to stand up on the back of his new four-wheeler, I grab the camera rather than get him down or stand behind him to catch him if he falls. This, of course, is a learned behavior. He rarely falls. He has his father's unnaturally good balance. He stood up for a couple of seconds and then he sat back down. These are the kind of stunts he pulls when he's really tired. I immediately called the Yarn Queen to scold her about not including a fourwheeler safety course with the new toy. The Band King just told me I better get a charge account at the emergency clinic.

Keep It In The Circus
"W"s first birthday was as perfect as it could be. I had the house decorated when he woke up and he "ooooohhhhh, ooooohhhhh"ed for the first couple hours of the day. Mom and Dad gave him a tool bench, a tent/tunnel, a book, and a scuttlebug. Everything is his favorite, but I think the best gift of all was the company of our friends and family. He was so excited to be surrounded by so many people he knows in his own house. I was relieved because he was his happy self all day and didn't have a meltdown, like I had feared. He handled the stimulation overload very well. We had the traditional spaghetti dinner, but with a twist. Instead of marinara, it was somewhat of a ratatouille sauce. And angel food cake, of course.

Balloon Glow
We weren't ambitious enough to follow the original plan to make it up to Wolf Mountain at 7:00 AM one of the three mornings of the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival for a balloon launch, but we did manage the balloon glow last night. "W" thought the fire was fantastic. I hope I don't have a pyromaniac on my hands. He made friends with a beautiful little baby girl who was born 4 days before him, named Charlotte. It was so cute. They had live music, that "W" liked to dance to, and best of all, everything was free.
BTW, have you ever been to a hotel that had all white linens, the bedspread and all? I loved it!

I'm Small I Know, But Wherever I Go.......
MY MOM TAKES PICTURES OF ME! Poor "W" will be forever tormented by his Mother and her camera. We took a mini-holiday up to Ogden this weekend. Ogden is beautiful in some places and ghetto in others, but lots of things to see and do. Of course, my own personal model, did not disappoint.

8 Yr Wedding Anniversary
Yesterday PBTB and I celebrated 8 years together. (Well, we dated for 5 years, so make that 13 years.) We went out to eat at the Red Butte Cafe because I was craving those thick noodles in their house pasta salad. So, it was either there or Desert Edge Pub. They have a yummy rare roast beef sandwich that comes with an equally yummy pasta salad. My gift to PBTB for our anniversary is that I am going to knit our family sweaters. Well, I get a sweater, the boys get vests. They are both little furnaces and wouldn't appreciate anything more. I am drawing from the new Sublime Organic Cotton DK book and using that yarn as well.
So, picture this one without the sleeves.
Any bets on how long it's going to take me?

10 Year Class Reunion
Last year PBTB missed his 10 year class reunion, partly because he didn't want to go and partly because he had a family reunion that day too. My 10 yr class reunion was last Saturday. I don't love things like that, but I was afraid I would regret going if I didn't go. It was held at our community outdoor swimming pool. PBTB and "W" were good sports and tagged along with me. It was good to see people in my class that I have become acquainted with more recently, but a little disappointed that none of my better friends that I haven't seen since High School managed to make it. I was also a little disappointed that more people chose not to bring their families. I guess I assumed it would be more of a family affair. But, I do not regret going and I had a good time.

Youth Conference
On Friday, our ward had Youth Conference. It was a 2 day event, but I only volunteered for one day, too much stuff going on. Anyway, in the morning we did a service project at the Boys and Girls Club. We created Olympic Events for the children to compete in. I think that the kids had more fun than we did, but I guess that was the point. After that we had Sister Herron speak on media influence, very interesting. Then we headed down to Happy Valley to hike Timpanogos. I hadn't been to the cave since I was in elementary school. I didn't remember much. It is a beautiful hike and the cave was interesting when I could forget where I was. (a little claustrophobic) I don't recommend it for anyone afraid of heights either. I was just glad to know that I could keep up with the teenage boys, although I am feeling it the last couple of days.

Mixed Emotions
Well, we accepted an offer on our house last night. I am relieved and want to burst into tears at the same time. I immediately went out on our porch to take some pics of "W" before I don't have a beautiful porch to take pictures on anymore. I have never been so torn. I did, however, get some cute pics of "W". Since I never did an 11 month post, we'll call this good (2 weeks late).

Bride, Beautiful
Yesterday I had the opportunity of doing a bridal bouquet for a bridal shoot. Sigh.....I miss it when I get to work with fabulous flowers.
